The task of educating people about the importance of Christian political involvement seems to be overwhelming. So many Christians take the attitude that government is evil and that we are not of this world. They think that we are just supposed to focus on praying, though they do little of it, and they think we are “off base” to think that any good could ever be accomplished by trying to change things other than through prayer alone.
Without Christian involvement in the process, we cannot expect to get any Christian person with Christian values in office. Life is better and the freedom of religion and religious expression is greater when righteous people are in positions of authority. The Bible says when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice. It also says in the same verse that when the wicked bear rule, the people mourn.
We are working daily to get a Biblical worldview into listeners’ thinking. It is a daunting task mostly because preachers don’t preach much about a Biblical worldview, and most Christians allow their children to be brainwashed in secular humanism by letting the ungodly system capture their children’s minds.
If most people in the church knew how far from a Biblical mindset they really are, they would understand why the devil has little fear of the average church member.

Blog readers are the first to have the opportunity of getting your name in a special drawing for a pair of tickets to the Gaither Homecoming Friends Tour in Lubbock on May 1st. I have not yet announced that I have tickets on the radio. Get your name to me after reading this blog to get in on the first drawing, which will be a “blog readers only drawing” prior to making the on-air announcement. You have an excellent chance of winning a pair of tickets if you get your name to me now. By calling, we will know you read it on this blog.
I expect to get some hate mail (or e-mail) soon. I submitted an article to the Amarillo Globe News today regarding Tim Tebow and the 30 second commercial scheduled to air during the Super Bowl. I wrote about liberals and how they tell us all the time that filth in movies, in video games, on TV, and in magazines has no effect on us. A so-called “expert movie critic” said to me on Nightline in 1985 that the violence, sex, and/or profanity in “R” rated movies was a “safety valve” by which someone could let off steam in a harmless manner. I said that was bunk and baloney. I haven’t changed my mind about that in 25 years.
In the article to the Amarillo Globe News, I wrote of the fear that the liberals have concerning the pro-life message of the commercial. They fear that the feminist movement will be set back 35 or 40 years from this 30 seconds on TV. I pray that their worst fears will come to pass. Wouldn’t that be something if all their propaganda and lies could be exposed to the world in 30 seconds?

Snow was still a problem and a blessing today. The moisture was greatly needed, and we are thankful. The icy streets and snowdrifts were hampering much of the normal activity of everyone. I have spent part of my time helping folks get out who had gotten stuck in the snow, and trudging through snowdrifts to knock snow off the uplink and downlink satellite dishes behind the radio station. Those things gave me something to do so I don’t get idle.
Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Abundant Living Broadcast. (Actually, today, January 29th is the actual date of its beginning, but it is a Saturday program.) On the last Saturday of January 1977, I began broadcasting a program on KBYP in Shamrock, the nearest radio station to Wheeler, where I was pastor of Christian Center Church. I’ve had a Saturday morning broadcast ever since that day 33 years ago. What a privilege I’ve had to live out a childhood dream. I wonder if anyone reading this blog was listening on that first Saturday.
Have you told anybody about Jesus lately? May I encourage you to pray that the Lord will lay souls on your heart and use you to reach those souls? Let’s do what we can to make 2010 the greatest year of harvest we have ever seen.
Don’t forget that I have some Gaither tickets to their Homecoming concert in Lubbock coming up on May 1st. I have not yet mentioned this on the radio. So, you blog readers can get the first opportunity to get your name in the hat for a drawing to give away a couple of those tickets. I’ll give away 2 at a time, and there are several pair to give away. Call or write us an email today to get in on the drawing.

I hope you like snow because we are having the biggest snowstorm we have had in more than 9 years. It’s a good day to stay inside and listen to your radio – on the Kingdom Keys Network, of course.
Obama spoke to the Congress and the nation last night in the annual State of The Union speech. I don’t know what you thought about the speech, but the word that came to my mind was “hooey”. “That’s a bunch of hooey”, I thought. I decided to look up the word “hooey” in the dictionary to see if that was an appropriate word to describe what I had been listening to. The definition is that hooey is “silly or worthless talk”, or “nonsense; bunk”. That’s a pretty good commentary on the 70 minute talk in which Obama referred to himself over 130 times, blamed Bush again for the problems, rebuked the Supreme Court justices sitting in front of him, vowed to change the policy to allow homosexuals to openly serve in the military, and spouted off numerous lies. (Sometime in private, ask me what I really think about this fellow who is a forerunner of the Antichrist, in my opinion.)
I have not mentioned anything on the radio about this yet. So, you blog readers will be the first to know. I have several tickets to the Bill Gaither Homecoming tour coming to Lubbock on May 1, 2010. You can contact us to put your name in for a drawing. I will be drawing out some names in a few weeks to give away a pair of tickets to. Actually, I will give away several pair of tickets. So, get your name in. You may win 2 of these tickets.

In the hour of News, Views, & Commentaries, Ricky listed approximately 50 things about Obama that people say "doesn't matter", but it does matter if you don't want the country to be transformed into a Marxist/Socialist country. The list is on a Word Document and is too long to post here on the web site. Call, e-mail us, or leave a message on this web site for it to be e-mailed to you as an attachment. Christmas music was broadcast in the second hour of the morning program. Listen to us throughout the next month to hear great Christmas music and programming.
