Snow was still a problem and a blessing today. The moisture was greatly needed, and we are thankful. The icy streets and snowdrifts were hampering much of the normal activity of everyone. I have spent part of my time helping folks get out who had gotten stuck in the snow, and trudging through snowdrifts to knock snow off the uplink and downlink satellite dishes behind the radio station. Those things gave me something to do so I don’t get idle.
Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Abundant Living Broadcast. (Actually, today, January 29th is the actual date of its beginning, but it is a Saturday program.) On the last Saturday of January 1977, I began broadcasting a program on KBYP in Shamrock, the nearest radio station to Wheeler, where I was pastor of Christian Center Church. I’ve had a Saturday morning broadcast ever since that day 33 years ago. What a privilege I’ve had to live out a childhood dream. I wonder if anyone reading this blog was listening on that first Saturday.
Have you told anybody about Jesus lately? May I encourage you to pray that the Lord will lay souls on your heart and use you to reach those souls? Let’s do what we can to make 2010 the greatest year of harvest we have ever seen.
Don’t forget that I have some Gaither tickets to their Homecoming concert in Lubbock coming up on May 1st. I have not yet mentioned this on the radio. So, you blog readers can get the first opportunity to get your name in the hat for a drawing to give away a couple of those tickets. I’ll give away 2 at a time, and there are several pair to give away. Call or write us an email today to get in on the drawing.
