It is interesting that the crowd that wants to ignore God’s Word about abortion and proclaim the so-called right of a woman to choose to kill her unborn child was going so ballistic over such an innocuous ad as the Tim Tebow ad during the Super Bowl.  Yet, none of them that I know of were the least bit concerned over the commercial that promoted a video game called Dante’s Inferno, which includes involvement with demons and the killing of babies that are unbaptized.  Neither were the feminists’ ire raised over the Go Daddy commercials showing women ripping off their blouses.  Is it okay to play games that are basically the worship of Satan and to think that women are so publicly promiscuous?  Not even strippers and prostitutes rip off their clothes in public.  Yet, this was not bothersome to the Left-wingers.  Evidently, there was no thought of that being degrading to women.

When you allow yourself to make up your own standards and develop your own principles, totally apart from the Word of God, you always get “goofed up”.  It becomes so non-sensical as to be absurd and ludicrous.  When you depart from the Bible, you depart from common sense and decency.  The Bible speaks of people who don’t want to retain God in their knowledge.  The Word says that God gives them over to a reprobate mind to do those things that are not convenient (meaning “not fit” or “not becoming” or “not right”).

I exhort you to continue in the Word.  Read it.  Talk it.  Meditate in it.  Listen to it and to those who preach it uncompromisingly.  That will help keep you from letting the world conform you into its mold (Romans 12:2)

I’m offering to the “blog-readers” the opportunity of getting your name in for a special drawing for Gaither Homecoming tickets.  I am going to draw out names for at least a couple of pairs of tickets before we announce on the radio that we even have these tickets.  Call or e-mail us to get your name in for this special pre-radio drawing for tickets to see the Gaither Homecoming Friends in Lubbock on May 1, 2010.

I had submitted an article to the Amarillo Globe News regarding the Tim Tebow advertisement coming up during the Super Bowl.  In the online edition of the Amarillo Globe News, people can enter responses to the newspaper and its online readers to editorials.  There were numerous responses.  While I’ve been around a long time and have enough tough skin to take whatever vitriolic thing someone says about me, I never cease to be amazed at how many people right here in the buckle of the Bible belt have intense hatred toward God.

The biggest problem we have in the nation and in the world today is “no fear of God”.  The Bible says the fear of the Lord is TO HATE EVIL. (See Proverbs 8:13).  Today, many people (including many who profess Christianity) don’t have hatred for evil, unless it is something extremely abhorrent such as the murder or rape of a small child.  May we all remember the warning of Isaiah - Isa 5:20  Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

We must continue proclaiming the truth about what is evil, even when the society around us calls it good.  And, we must continue preaching the uncompromising Word of God, even when the world around us calls the good evil.

The blog is short today.  Controversy continues to brew over the Tim Tebow Super Bowl ad.  I read an editorial this morning on the radio written by a liberal “pro-choice” lady who talked about how ridiculous it was for the people associated with NOW (National Organization of Fewer and Fewer Women) to object so strongly and vocally to this ad.  Sally Jenkins wrote about how the Tim Tebow ad isn’t intolerant, but it’s critics are.  You can read the article by clicking here.

It’s a very good article from someone who believes in abortion, but finds it absurd to have such a hissy fit over the Tim Tebow ad.

Read yesterday’s blog for information about the Gaither Homecoming tickets.
